In this section of our website we would like to share our images of events and visits with you. We have also added information about our close links with our local community, some visit our school on a regular basis and work closely with us to help make changes.
Thank you from The Well
We received a lovely card from The Well, thanking us and our parents for the foodbank donations.
Community Foodbank
We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry. I (Mrs Watson) with the help of School Council, are going to set up a community foodbank in school to help families in our local area. With your help we can make this happen. We are going to place a box in the school entrance and ask that any donations be placed there. The box will regularly be emptied and taken to The Well at West Auckland.
Any parents/families wishing to access the foodbank can see how by checking on https://durham.foodbank.org.uk/. Big or small, every gift/donation will take us a step closer to ending hunger and support our children and local families.
World Autism Awareness Day
To raise awareness of Autism we came to school with fun, unique hair. There was lots of glitter, colour and very interesting designs.
Community Litter Pick
Y4 joined the parish council in a litter pick at the play area. In 45 minutes they managed to collect 10 bags of rubbish. The children have learned that when they are out and about they dispose of their litter in a bin and if there is not 1 available to take it home with them and dispose of it there. www.durham.gov.uk/bigspringclean
