Year 4 have taken part in a bushcraft day. They learned how to build dens and fires and cooked fish when the fire was lit.
Adam Bushnell Visit
Adam Bushnell a local author, story teller and historian visited us in school. He talked to us about the Romans. We got to dress up in Gladiators clothing and look at the weapons they would have used. We also wrote a story from the perspective of a Gladiator.
Japanese Culture Day
Japanese students from Durham University visited our school as part of Japanese culture day. We took part in a carousel of activities. These included, using chopsticks, origami, wearing traditional Japanese clothing and looking at Japanese letters and words.
In December, Year 4 took part in a dance festival. They performed a routine in front of a large audience and represented the school brilliantly.
Year 4 completed a science investigation looking at how solids, liquids and gases change in different conditions e.g. breathing on a mirror, wet handprint on a blackboard and ice cubes in a bowl.
Year 4 took part in a Multi Sports festival at St. John’s School. They participated in a range of different activities and sports throughout the day.
